The work displayed dirt on the support. burnt areas on the pictorial layer, produced by previous relining, retouches, oxidised varnish and dirt on the frame. Treatment was carried out, starting with a detailed analysis, consisting of dismantling, cleaning, fumigation, removing the previous lining and proceeding with the relining of the canvas, removing the varnish, applying stucco, carrying out chromatic reintegration and applying protective varnish.

Its preservation in general had been quite good, however, there were deformities and wear and tear to the support, two small retouches and a metallic powder stain, and oxidised varnish. Treatment consisted of cleaning; removing, preparing and positioning patches; fumigation; removing repainted coats and oxidised varnish, applying stucco, carrying out chromatic reintegration and applying protective varnish.

The work displayed the following problems: deformations, nail holes, wear and tear and dirt in the support; gaps and wear and tear in the pictorial layer; dirt in the protective layer. Treatment consisted of cleaning, eliminating deformities, fumigation, relining, chromatic reintegration, re-attachment.
Diagnostic records prior to the restoration of the Loringiana collection
The condition of the objects which make up the former Loringiano Museum, with a large part of the objects conserved outdoors and dispersed in different places of the city, made it necessary to record the technical specifications in order to make a diagnosis of these objects with a view to carrying out an urgent intervention to preserve the objects in an appropriate setting.
