Dance at a hall. Manuel Cabral Bejarano. Donated by the Association of Friends of the Museum.
The Association of Friends of the Museum was set up in 1982 in order to focus the efforts of a private group of individuals to best benefit the museum. Collaboration with the museum takes place in various fields, the cultural activities programme which is offered to the members being worth special mention.
Collaboration with the museum is carried out in the following ways:
1. Acquisition and donation of objects to the museum, such as the two Manuel Cabral Bejarano paintings: "Baile en un salón" and "Baile en una caseta de feria".
2.- Collaboration in the organisation of activities, such as the View a Painting Programme.
3.- The organisation of courses, seminars and conferences.
4.- Particularly important, over the last few years, has been the voluntary work of a large group of members. They form a team of volunteer tour guides, organising guided tours, which are free for associations and social groups which would otherwise would not be able to learn about the museum. This is becoming an established activity and now offers a guided tour for the general public once a month between October and June, as well as catering for groups.
The association offers the following main advantages:
1. Attendance at conferences, courses and seminars organised exclusively for members.
3. 50% reduction in the entrance fee to State-owned museums.
4. Periodic information about the programmed activities.
